Community terms

You retain responsibility for your work and grant permission for its display and moderation on MyBankAnswers. Only submit material you are entitled to publish. Do not use blogs to offer personalized financial advice, sell financial products or impersonate a financial institution.

Moderators may reject, remove or restrict harmful or low-quality content. Product terms and law change; verify important decisions with official sources. These community terms supplement the site terms.

Controlled community

Reader accounts can submit moderated comments, vote and report abuse. Reviewed Writer accounts can maintain one personal blog by default. Every comment and submitted post is manually reviewed; editing a published post removes it from public view until reviewed again. Editorial articles have no comment facility.

Comments cannot contain links or contact details. New writers cannot link externally. Approved exceptions are clearly treated as user content; advertisements and affiliate promotions are not accepted.

Votes and author levels

One active vote per verified, approved account and published post. You may withdraw a vote and later vote again. Self-votes do not count. Most Popular uses genuine votes, excluding banned accounts and removed content. Editor’s Picks are explicit curator selections. Seed journals and discussions are editorial examples.

Contributor is the starting level. Established Author requires ten approved posts, at least 90 days since the first approved post, 25 genuine votes and no rejected posts. Featured Author is an explicit, audited owner selection. Editorial Team badges require staff attribution verification.

Privacy and anti-bot checks

We process your email for verification and recovery, your selected account type, profile, submissions, votes and reports for moderation. Anti-bot forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, which receives browser and challenge information under Cloudflare’s privacy terms. Server-side challenge validation sends the challenge token to Cloudflare. We never publish emails or raw IP addresses. Account IDs are retained with votes to enforce one vote per post.

Abuse events contain a reason code and timestamp rather than raw submissions or IP addresses and are removed after 30 days. Rate limits use a keyed hash and expire. Moderation history is retained for accountability; account deletion requests are reviewed, personal profile fields are removed, and removed content is not shown publicly. Private backups follow the operator retention schedule.

Public interaction stays closed until verified mail delivery and password recovery, anti-bot configuration and owner 2FA are confirmed. There are no private messages, follower networks or user advertisements.
